School re-opens on January 4, 2009.


Please read the important parent letter below containing 2009-10 re-registration information. Re-registration documents can either be printed out below and filled in, or they can be collected at the Admissions office.

 

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for selecting ABS as your child(ren)’s school and for your continued support. If you have any questions regarding re-registration, please do not hesitate to contact the Admissions office, at extension 1300.

Educational CDs for Sale

Dear Parents,

 

We are pleased to announce the sale of textbooks on CD-Rom to all grades 6-12 in various academic subjects. Each text CD will cost 1KD to cover the cost of producing the CD. Please note CDs are not available for all subjects.

 

CDs are available for Math, Pre Algebra, Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, Science, Conceptual Physics, Litreature, World History, World Geography and French.

 

Please fill out the form below and send payment and complete order form to the Cashier office. Purchased CDs Will need 5 working days to be distributed.

Elementary visits the BMW Showroom

The students in the Elementary Department had the opportunity to visit the Kuwait BMW Showroom this week.

 

The children were able to look at a variety of models, see how the cars were worked on and maintained and they asked lots of interesting questions of the sales staff.

 

Each child received a “goody bag” compliments of BMW. The trip was concluded by the ever popular trip to McDonalds for lunch.

Exxon Mobil Presentation on The Best 100

On Monday December 1st, the high school boys and girls had a presentation about “The Best 100”. A lady named Ms. Aseel came and talked to us about a science fair competition that is happening in Kuwait. It will be taking place in the Scientific Center.

 

There you could spread your thoughts about what inventions and anything in your mind that can help the world. There will be the top 100 contestants and a 500KD prize.

Qatar Education City Universities Presentation

Qatar Education CityCollege Admission’s Officers from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Arts, Texas A&M University, Carnegie Mellon University and Georgetown University School of Foreign Service spoke to interested Grade 11 and 12 students about the various programs they offer at Qatar's satellite campuses and about the college admissions process.
ABS students received brochures and other materials which will allow them to make informed choices about regional university options. The students also took advantage of the opportunity to ask the representatives questions about each university and the admissions process.

Business Students visit Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry

On Sunday, November 23rd, 35 Business students from 9, 10, 11, and 12GA visited the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

After watching a short video on the history of Kuwait's commercial development, a representative spoke to the students about the history and purpose of Kuwait's Chamber of Commerce.

Ali Al-Ghanim, the former Chairman of the Chamber, even stopped in to say hello! Following the presentation, the students were given a guided tour of Chamber of Commerce building and stopped in many different offices to learn about their specific functions.
